Release Date: Summer 2009
Despite the writers strike, pre-production on “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” has started. Mike Newell who you might know from directing “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” will be at the helm. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has stated that the script has already been turned in and they are beginning to develop the film’s “look and feel”. Though the script is turned in, apparently it is not completely finished, so the writer’s strike really needs to end in order to complete this film and have it ready for release in 2009. Mike Newell has said he plans to treat this not as a video game movie, but just as a really great story. So this gives up hope that it won’t be yet another failed video game movie.
