Johnny Depp leads the cast of “Public Enemies”, a Michael Mann directed film which also stars, Christian Bale, Giovanni Ribisi, and Stephen Dorff. You may remember Michael Mann as the director of such films as “Ali”, “Last of the Mohicans”, and “Collateral”. Hopefully this will be a new gangster movie done right.

An all star cast rounds out the new comedy from Dreamworks.  Cast includeds Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Nick Nolte, and who’s that black guy between Ben Stiller and Jack Black?, oh well, that’s Robert Downey Jr.  Why is he black?  Check out the trailer here.

Synopsis

It seems that Digg has grown tired of the HD Format War.  They no longer care who wins this format war, they just want it to be over so that they can stop reading HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray on every other post.  Most articles are nothing more that blog speculation on the topics spun in favor of their preferred format, thus adding further confusion to the entire situation, and resulting in counter posts from other blogs.

Elizabeth the Golden Age will be released on HD DVD, Release Date: February 5th, 2008. The movie looks great and don’t forget that you can also pick up the original “Elizabeth” on HD DVD, with Cate Blanchett still in the title role.

Film star Heath Ledger was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime, adding prescription pills were found near his body.

Heath Ledger was an Academy Award nominee and gives what looks to be an amazing performance as The Joker in the upcoming “The Dark Knight”.   You may remember him from a variety of films, including: “Brokeback Mountain”, “A Knight’s Tail”, “The Patriot”, and “Monster’s Ball”.

The current format war got me thinking about what might have been, had Sony used their current strategy to win the Betamax/VCR format war. Oh well, too bad, no do-overs.

Moviefone had the first picture of the new Star Trek Enterprise from J.J. Abrams new Star Trek XI movie. It looks pretty sharp, and if you want to see the trailer for the new film, it will be attached before that other little J.J. Abrams project, “Cloverfield”. Paramount will release ” Into the Wild” on HD DVD, Release Date: March 4th, 2008. This looks like a great movie and would make a fine addition to your HD DVD collection.
