This actor almost got the role of the man of steel, in what would have been a very different version of Superman by director Tim Burton. Fortunately for everyone this version never saw the light of day.
This actor almost got the role of Wolverine, however his conflict with Mission Impossible 2 cause him to have to pass on the role, now made famous by Hugh Jackman.
This actor almost took over for Tobey McGuire as Spiderman in the 2nd movie. It seemed Tobey was having back problems and wasn’t sure if he was going to reprise his role, fortunately he toughed it out.
This actor was almost one of the most loved characters in movie history, however, he missed out and Harrison Ford was the lucky guy that nabbed the part of Han Solo, launching his career into the stratosphere.
This actress almost got the role of Princess Leia, however Carrie Fisher managed to wow George Lucas with her take on the princess, that he had no other choice but to cast her.
This actor turned down the role of the Hulk allowing Eric Bana to star in this toilet bowl of a movie. Oddly, “Hulk” was so bad, the studio has remade it with that original actor in the starring role. I guess he liked the story better this time.
This actor turned down the role of Indiana Jones to continue work on his wildly popular tv show (at least at the time). A little show called Magnum P.I.
This high profile actor was almost the man to play Iron Man. However, his being crazy as of late, probably had a lot to do with him not getting this part, though he had expressed interest. Robert Downey Jr. pulled the role off beautifully.
It seems that Digg has grown tired of the HD Format War. They no longer care who wins this format war, they just want it to be over so that they can stop reading HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray on every other post. Most articles are nothing more that blog speculation on the topics spun in favor of their preferred format, thus adding further confusion to the entire situation, and resulting in counter posts from other blogs.
So I would like to take this moment to offer those of you who feel the need to discuss your formats a solution. Discuss them in their appropriate places, and not on Digg. Here is the site for you Blu-Ray fans, it’s the blu-ray.com forum. Click Here to Visit.
Then of course there are the HD DVD fans. Here is yous place. The HD DVD Hub. Click Here to Visit. Just click the Forum link there to start discussing. Interestingly enough, they even offer a Blu-Ray discussion section in their forum, as they also support neutral format supporters.
Anyway, there you have it, you guys have your respective corners, now just sit down and color, while the rest of us move on with Digg.
Film star Heath Ledger was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime, adding prescription pills were found near his body.
Heath Ledger was an Academy Award nominee and gives what looks to be an amazing performance as The Joker in the upcoming “The Dark Knight”. You may remember him from a variety of films, including: “Brokeback Mountain”, “A Knight’s Tail”, “The Patriot”, and “Monster’s Ball”.
Well Warner Bros. seems to think this is the format that “the people chose”. I disagree. You had better get used to this type of thing though if you support Blu-Ray. The video is a little lengthy, because it’s real time, but it’s very educational and a little comical, but as far as business goes this is sad and unacceptable.
Well, we were all wondering what was going to happen with this. NBC held a press conference to announce that the Golden Globes will not be going on, not even a non-televised version of the event, due to the long lasting writer’s strike. NBC instead plans to hold a press conference announcing the winners, and showing clips of the stars at various parties.
This writer’s strike has gone on way longer than anyone would have liked. Hopefully an agreement can be reached, otherwise we may have a very similar Academy Awards presentation. People need their movies and television, so hopefully they can figure this thing out.

There is so much anticipation for the J.J. Abrams movie “Cloverfield” that it is almost impossible for it not to smash records in January. First of all, January has the one of the smallest opening weekend records of any of the months, second only to September. The current January opening weekend record holder is “Star Wars (Special Edition)”, which managed to gross $35,906,661 in it’s first weekend.
The second record it will break in it’s opening weekend is the all time weekend gross record. This title currently belongs to “Titanic”, which managed to grab $36,014,544 on the weekend of 1/16/1998. This was not the opening weekend of “Titanic” mind you, if you recall, it took a little time for “Titanic” to pick up speed before it peaked.
Depending on the quality of the movie, it could also go on to become the highest grossing film released in January. It all depends on how much momentum it can pick up based on quality and word of mouth. The first two records are almost certainly a sure thing, whether it takes the all time record though, it yet to be determined.

It looks to me like January, April, September, and October could use some better movies.
Well, they’ve managed to do it again. Warner Bros. has mixed up yet another blu-ray release. This time it’s the new release of Blade Runner. You may recall the first mix up being with the new Harry Potter Blu-Ray, in which an HD DVD copy of one of the movies was in years 1-5 collection. Read about it here.
Anyway, In some Blu-ray editions of the five disc release of Blade Runner, the fifth disc which should contain the “Work Print” is a duplicate of disc one.
Warner can be contacted if you have recived a set with the duplicate. Contact their service hotline at: 1-800-553-6937
This number can also be used if you received one of the flawed Harry Potter sets that contained a HD DVD disc in a Blu-ray set.
Warner should really start paying closer attention to how they are packaging their Blu-Ray discs. This has got to be irritating to those Blu-Ray consumers out there.
