Remake Classic Video Games On New Consoles?

excitebike

After reading several articles on the interwebs, I got thinking….”Why not remake classic games into a new generation?”

With the movie industry remaking a lot of older movies into newer ones, and turning old comic books into  movies.  It seems that with the success the movies are having, why not remake some old classics into newer consoles.

With so many old-school games out there that people really love, why not?  But, the catch would be that you can’t f*ck it up.  You can’t make a game that was an old school side scroller into a fully 3-d world.  That doesn’t work right, at least not for nostalgia.  Games like Excitebike and NBA JAM would be great, as long as they stay true to the old style.  Can’t make a game like excitebike and have it look like Pure. I am sure i’m probably alone on this, but i would love to see some old games make a comeback.   Now, I’ll admit that if you remade Excitebike for the Wii, you probably couldn’t tell the difference in graphics

AND BRING BACK OLD SCHOOL MARIO!!  3-D mario can derelicte my balls, capitan!

Any thoughts, or ideas on any other games that should be remade, even counting computer games?  I waited 10 years for Fallout 3, and I still like the first two better, don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game but the first 2 are legendary.

  1. I’m gonna have to disagree about 3-D Mario. Mario Galaxy was pretty damn fun. 3-D Zelda can derelicte my balls though.
