Games winning the format war! Well, sort of…

Ok, games may not be included in the past format war, but according Media Control GfK International, video games outsold Blu Ray and DVD combined. COMBINED.
According to their numbers DVD and Blu-ray sold a combined $29 billion in product, while video games grew by 20%, to $32 billion. Although technically, they sold more units, Blu Ray and DVD don’t sell for the price tags that video games do. Plus, factor in how many dvd’s are sold in the bargain bin for $10.
With the ability to rent, go to a theater, use netflix, or pirate movies it seems like they have too many leaks on their ship. Rarely do people rent video games due to time investments needed to finish, there’s no video game theaters, and piracy of video games is too much work for many people. It seems that digital downloads are making a statement in sales. Sorry, Sony…looks like Microsoft backed the right pony. If netflix had a better selection of I’d probably never buy another movie, except for the rare gems that I really like.
Do you think this trend will continue? I know more people who are anticipating games than movies.

Digital down loads when monkeys fly out my butt. Hd dvd was and still is the best format
